A dozen animals at a Maple Park, Illinois, equine rescue were facing the imminent loss of their home—and possibly their lives. Second Chancel Saddlebreds (SCS) stepped in to save them.
Many of these horses had been mistreated prior to coming into rescue. And they were again headed for a heartbreaking fate due to a property sale, leaving their caregivers, Casey’s Safe Haven, without the barn it had rented since 2019. We couldn’t let this be the end of the story for these resilient animals. SCS adopted all 11 horses and one donkey. They will be relocated just down the road to our state-of-the-art facility, where they will receive the highest level of care for the rest of their lives. SCS was built on our founder's love for American Saddlebreds, but the new SCS home is welcoming to all horse breeds in need. Please help us rewrite their next chapter. Because every horse deserves a second chance.
